Note this is a video recording of an online meeting conducted using the Zoom.us platform. Inevitably such recordings suffer a little in terms of their production values because of the internet connectivity and quality of webcams. Despite that, they allow us to provide additional valuable insights in to the MedComms business and we can involve a wider range of speakers who can participate from the comfort of their own desks, wherever in the world they are.
Last Summer’s comprehensive survey of the medical communications community was published in the March 2021 issue of EMWA’s journal, Medical Writing. “Challenges of working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic: A survey to inform working practices” was authored by Tim Hardman, Peter Llewellyn and Steven Walker. It highlighted the need for suitable home working work spaces, yet only a minority of respondents had undergone a home working assessment. More recently, the 6th annual MedComms Barometer survey in January 2021 reinforced those same findings. This shines a severe spotlight on our working spaces. Our chairs. Our desks. Our working environment. At home, some are working on their bed. Or clustered around the kitchen table alongside their kids.
In this webinar we are joined by Tim Hardman, and we’ll talk about best practices and optimising working spaces with Ergonomics Specialist, James Crow who has recently helped a MedComms agency assess and support their staff. What can we do individually to improve our own productivity and avoid painful consequences? And what should employers be doing to support their staff to work effectively and safely at home? And we answer questions from the audience.
It should be of interest to anyone working in and around MedComms and beyond.
