Note this is a video recording of an online meeting conducted using the Zoom.us platform. Inevitably such recordings suffer a little in terms of their production values because of the internet connectivity and quality of webcams. Despite that, they allow us to provide additional valuable insights in to the MedComms business and we can involve a wider range of speakers who can participate from the comfort of their own desks, wherever in the world they are.
This panel discussion was one of five sessions which comprised the MedComms Forum, Disrupted events: what’s happening in #MedComms practice?. The panellists are Stephane Dazet (European Association for the Study of the Liver), Mark Handforth (3Sixty Event Consulting), Alex Morris (Chartered Psychologist, a Chartered Scientist and Associate Fellow with the British Psychological Society) and Andrew Winterburn (3Sixty Event Consulting). There’s been a rush to transform face-to-face event into virtual events. Does that mean the face-to-face meeting is essentially dead? That’s calling for a paradigm shift in the way humans behave and like to interact. Is the future more about blended formats? If so, what are the additional practical complexities? How do venues accommodate physical distancing needs? How might those business models look? And we answer questions from the audience.
It should be of interest to anyone who is working in or around MedComms.
