ABSTRACT:

Account managers in medical communications agencies are drawn from a wide range of backgrounds. They need to work effectively with their colleagues, clients and world-leading clinicians to deliver a variety of informative, educational and promotional projects on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry. Managing publications in scientific and medical journals, presentations at congresses, events of all sizes, and the latest digital tools all require seamless organisational skills and careful attention to detail. Deadlines and budgets need to be balanced with top-notch quality and innovation, and account managers play an integral role to in their delivery.

Medcomms is a challenging, fast-paced and rewarding environment, offering a dynamic mix of science and business, as well as excellent prospects for those willing to work hard and well within a team. There is more information and support than ever before for people considering a future in account management, but it is not always easy to know where to start. This presentation, along with the careers guide available at FirstMedCommsJob.com, will hopefully help point you in the right direction so that you can decide whether account management is for you.
