ABSTRACT:
WG Access is a market access agency – that is, a medical communications agency specifically set up to advise and support pharmaceutical and medical device companies with optimising market access opportunities for their products. This essentially involves educating and informing decision-makers about the health and cost benefits of new and existing therapies, via internal and external scientific and/or commercial communications, in a variety of formats and media, supported by clinical and health economics data. WG Access provide integrated support across the lifecycle of products, for example in preparing and responding to health technology assessment (HTA) submissions via evidence generation, product strategy development and communication.
One thing that makes WG Access different is that they are part of the greyhealth group. Their London office includes WG Access, Darwin healthcare communications, the ghg London advertising team, and PR experts, the GCI group. This breadth of resource makes for a collaborative environment, and allows WG Access to handpick individuals from these and other sister agencies, such as those with digital expertise or local market knowledge, to build teams that are matched to client needs. The work is challenging and fast-paced; care is taken with training, and there are opportunities for changing direction within the agency, as well as for international travel. There is no such thing as a typical day for a market access writer – the work is hugely varied, from developing content, to liaising with colleagues on the creative, editorial and account management sides, to teleconferencing with external experts and meeting with clients.
